How does an on-line course work?
It’s very simple. Rather than losing a day stuck in a classroom, you can log on to any computer, anywhere that has internet access and complete as little or as much of your course as you want. Each time you re-enter the course you will be taken back to where you last left off. At the end of the course, you will take a online final exam. Once complete, a certificate of completion will be mailed to the address you provided at registration.
Why is it better than a traditional 1 day classroom course?
The great thing about an online course versus a traditional 8 hour classroom setting is the convenience. You can work on the course 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You can do a little or all the course at one time. You can take the course from any computer with internet access anywhere in the world.
How long does the course take?
You can sit and complete the course all at one time or you can complete a chapter and return at a more convenient time. Whenever you stop, Dallas Online Defensive Driving will take you back to where you last left off the course. You can log on and off as many times as you wish until you have completed the program.
If I already paid a fee to the court – do I have to pay for a traffic school course in addition?
Unfortunately, the answer to that question is yes. The fee you paid to the courts was for the privilege of taking a defensive driving course to dismiss your points. The payment to the courts is actually an administration court fee. You have to pay for the course itself. Fortunately, Dallas Online Defensive Driving does not charge extra for printing your Certificate of Completion as other online traffic schools do. The one charge covers your course, final exam (if taken online) processing your Certificate of Completion and standard U.S. Postal mail.
How do I pay for the course?
You can pay via your credit card, check debit card, check or money order. You will be linked to a secured ordering page where you can pay quickly and effortlessly. Your purchase is safe.
Am I eligible to take this course?
It is important that you verify with the court you received your ticket from if you are eligible to complete a traffic school course online. If so, this website will tell you if Dallas Online Defensive Driving's course is approved in your state. Simply click on which state you received your ticket and you will have all information for that state’s online traffic school rules. It’s really quite simple.
What if my certificate is due today?
We urge you to contact the court immediately. You may be eligible for an extension, however, that is determined by the county and court in which your certificate is due.
How long does it take to receive my certificate of completion?
We process the certificates of completion each business day. Any courses completed by 4:00pm E.S.T. will be processed that day. Any courses completed after the deadline will be processed the next business day. The certificates must be sent directly to the student. Generally, it can take 3 – 5 days to receive your certificate via U.S. Postal Service. You may want to use the expedited service available for an additional cost. You can choose that option on the order page. Overnight delivery is available.
Do you send my certificate directly to the court?
